"Do not fear your enemies. The worst they can do is kill you. Do not fear your friends. At worst, they may betray you. Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent." |
Charles Stewart Parnell |

To generalize makes this applicable to how we ought treat Irishmen fucking over other Irishmen, acting in concert with the Brits. Speaking at Ennis on 19 September 1880, Parnell declared : “When a man takes a farm from which another had been evicted you must shun him on the roadside when you meet him, you must shun him in the streets of the town, you must shun him in the shop, you must shun him in the fairgreen and in the marketplace, and even in the place of worship, by leaving him alone, by putting him in a moral Coventry, by isolating him from the rest of his country as if he were the leper of old, you must show your detestation of the crime he has committed”. This type of “moral Coventry” was used in the cast of Captain Boycott, a County Mayo land agent, who was isolated by the local people until his nerve broke. This lead to a new word entering in to the English language, boycotting. |

Bjorn, the number of people actually posting here appears minimal. Do you have a method set up to determine how many people hit the site... more to the point, how many people hit the guestbook? If so, can you share those numbers? That'd be interesting. It'd be fine that not many contribute, if at least there were masses reading the guestbook. Let me know, thanks. Brian |

In 1169, barely a century after the Norman invasion of Celtic/Saxon Britain gave rise to the entity of England, the expansionist feudal lords of England invaded neighboring Ireland, thereby beginning a history of Irish national resistance to foreign domination, now in its ninth century. -Peter Urban, "Beyond The Pale" |
Reminder for Patrick |

On the one hand, history is so crucial. We all could better understand where we are, why things are the way they are, through a more thorough understanding for history and origins. The leaf depends upon the twig, which depends upon the branch, which depends upon the trunk, which depends upon the entire root system. Yes? Don't forget this site as a link, if you see fit. http://wwwvms.utexas.edu/~jdana/irehist.html I tend to maybe oversimplify. Sometimes, I have a knee-jerk reaction to say screw history, I don't need any details. Ireland was one sovereign nation, with clearly stated borders (bodies of water, for Christ's sake). Ireland did not invite Britain to move in and take over. Britain is here though. We didn't ask them to outlaw Catholics. We didn't ask them to physically abuse us. We didn't ask them to be our government. We didn't ask permission to participate in THEIR form of government over our land. Now, they won't leave us, even when we do ask them. Things have gotten so distorted, that when we take our own version of military action to "motivate" them to leave, we are labeled terrorists. Then, when members of our forces are captured by this invading army and it's government, they label us as common criminals and we are put through their farce of a legal system (applying to Irish people) as such. We are NOT criminals, we are combatant forces. When captured, the very Geneva Convention dictates conditions and processes which are supposed to apply to us. Really now, the details of 800 years' history are utterly fantastic, for sure! They serve to inform and incite. Really, people on both sides can write and read what they want, then believe or disbelieve what they want, rally around what they choose. Once there is a long, written story, there will be people who graze through it and choose what they want, as if history were some damned take-out menu. Nah, maybe there are times when we should just look at the very simple facts. Britain's take-over of the northern counties may well be one of those examples. Brian |

Truth |

My God, Patrick. You're (I?) about to catch a boat-load of feedback from lots of people on that statement on the Truth page. They will read only what they want to read, and hear what they want to hear. They will claim the statement is racist, they will claim it is an attempt to incite violence, they will claim all sorts of off-the-wall things. They will do anything to divert attention and focus from the true root problem. Hey, there's plenty of more truths you are bound to encounter that you will likely want to add to that particular page. One of the priests in my parish ends the mass a little differently. Maybe you've heard this. Instead of saying "The mass is over, go in peace.", this guy says (and I'm paraphrasing him) "The mass is never over, it must live in through you.". Damned appropriate to the persuit and publication of the truth, no? SAOIRSE! Brian |

Peace? |

Peace is a condition preferred over war and battle. Self-determination of our own country is a condition preferred over dominance by a foriegn power. We could bow to our captors. We could talk nicely to and about them. We could turn our backs to the people of Short Strand and the like. We could make believe it, and so many other things, don't presently exist. We could do what so many "politically correct" people would like us to do, turn our back on 800 years of oppression... as if it were time to "move on", as they say. We could just behave, like nice the nice little group of dominated people should do. We've got to keep the goal in mind. The goal is NOT peace. The goal is having our country back. If peace can be maintained while we attain our goal, fantastic. If it can't be, then we have to recognize what our goal was, we have to pledge our allegiance to that original goal, then we must accept what will then be the inevitable. That will be war, battle, violence and death. Death of combatants, and the all-too-typical death of innocents. The established world will see what it is they just can't seen to wrestle with... they will see white europeans battling other white europeans. They will see masked young men in street clothes, throwing rocks and home-made bombs at established armies made up of white europeans. These "killers", dressed in plain clothes, sometimes wearing hoods and masks will operate, by the need of sheer survival, "underground". The established white european power (Britain) will attempt to rally world opinion against the evil "terrorists" that are waging street thuggery and death upon innocents and established european power. Don't get me wrong. I am white, and I am european. What I'm saying is that the world, the established world, seems to have a hard time wrestling with this. Brits know that. We need to be smarter than we've been. We need to rally public opinion. We need a truly informed public. We don't need to be cheerleaders, we don't need to be emotional, we really at this time don't need to kill anyone. We need to conduct this as a business. We need to identify our market. We need to identify methods to communicate the issue to the market, in a way that the market is prepared to accept it and understand it. It must be done so that the market becomes emotionally and intelectually attached. They must become strong and avid supporters. Sure, we will need their overt support, and surely we will no doubt need finances at one point or another. We have to show the established world that WE are THEM, and that THEY are WE! We can't create conditions where the established world looks upon us and points at us in negative fashion. We need to make them empathize. They need to see TV coverage, and imagine themselves in the streets, under continued dominance, victims of organized and deliberate religious persecution that is passively condoned and overlooked by the EVIL power of the Brits. Hell, I'd better give someone else a chance to speak today! SAOIRSE! Brian |
