Someone that picks up a gun and kills in defense of his family is very very different than someone that goes to the doctor to end the life of an unborn child. Maybe I shouldn't have voiced my opinions on this matter, as I seem to kinda stand alone amongst my friends in here. One thing that I've always had a problem with is keepin me mouth shut. I'm only going to restate my opnions that I stated before ....
Every person does have free will .... we all have the right to make our own choices. God gave us free will and no one has the right to take it away. My views on abortion are my own, and I, in no way, want to impose my thoughts, as such, on anyone in here. The problem is that I also feel the need to actually state why I think it is wrong. I've said before .... I didn't approve of it without the churchs statements .... I stand by that. I will also say that I do not and would never judge anyone because they had an abortion.
Patrick, I do have to agree that posting up billboards with aborted fetuses are in poor taste. That would aggrevate me and piss me off. I don't see how those billboards are supposed to help. I think the churches doing it are wrong. As for those that are victims of war, their memories will be kept alive in peoples hearts. Billboards shouldn't be necessary. Memorials are great ideas also ... coming from a place that honours our fallen comrades.
War is biblical... the churches usually do have statements about wars, but for the most part they know that wars are sometimes inevitable. I can't say I like the wars that have been in the middle east and I deffo can't say I approve of all these wars ... but I can see the need for war at times. I'm fightin in one now. Yes, life can be cruel .... I've seen me fare share of cruelty. There is a difference between fighting for freedom, fightin to protect those you love and killing needlessly. I just hope the wars are over soon and may the dead rest in peace.

The bible talks about 'free will' That makes each and everyone of us responsible for everything we do. If a man decides to walk into a bank with a loaded gun and kills someone while robbing it, that is his choice. If that same man shoots someone that has broken into his house threatening to kill his family, that is also his choice. Bottom line, the man has killed another human being. You cannot have it both ways. You cannot say that if you kill a person, it was Ok because he was just defending his family but then turn around and crucify him because he robbed a bank for money to buy food for his family. What if you and your wife have wanted children and that magic day happens when she tells you that she is with child. After going to the Doctor, he tells you both that the pregnancy is going to be fatal to either your wife or the child. One will die. Either you, your wife, or the doctor is going to be responsible for the death of someone. Some of you do not like my examples, but get over it, Life can be cruel. What I am trying to say here is that whatever you do in your lifetime, the only one you have to answer to is God. Here in America, on a Sunday morning, you can drive down the street and see a church on the corner with its congregation singing and rejoiceing that theirs is the ONLY religion and yet a few blocks down the street, there is another church bragging that THEIRS is the only religion, but wait, across the street, there is yet another church with bragging rights. There are many different ways to praise God. But what religion has the right to say "I am right, everyone else is wrong"? Actually, WHO has the right to say that? Its called free will. |
but listen buddy, if a man walked into a bank and killed a few people he'd be in prison for life, abortion makes it legal to murder

That's why I don't think Religion is a valuable argument. But it's different to abort a child because the mother could die, |
think of it this way, if the woman decides to have an abortion she is guaranteed that AT LEAST one person will die that day

To some religions, there is absolutley NO RESERVATIONS. Abortion is Murder. That is why I gave the examples that I did. To show that you cant have it both ways. They might not like my examples but they are facts of life. Personally, I find it offensive while I am driving, to see billboard signs showing an aborted fetus with some churchs name under it. They dont show warcrime victims pictures on billboards, so TAKE DOWN THE ABORTION billboards. |
you're pretty ignorant, you should get out more often, in vietnam millions of people protested the war, why would churches protest something that happend 40 years ago?

talk about getting out more and being ignorant.... I am talking about the war that is happening today that this country started. You might have heard about it. Its called Iraq. Hundreds of soldiers and thousands of civilians have been killed there.A little California tunnel vision perhaps. Or maybe the ignorance factor.

erm....
maybe you should update your data...
@Heather: having a problem with keepin' your mouth is a positive attitude in my opinion
in my opinion evry women should decide if anything grows in her body...
and she can control it, only if she got raped she can't. And then the choice should be given to her...

Thanks Fionas But I kinda beg to differ
speaking my mind, can, and has nearly gotten me killed. Ask Chucky or ChrisyBhoy, even Noel what would normally happen to someone that walks through a black hole day in and out .... with a phoenix badge displayed proudly upon their handbag? It isn't a good thought I tell ye, but that is what I did. Any wonder why some of us actually ended up getting the worst end of things. Standing up for things you believe in isn't always easy and it shouldn't be. I have never backed down when someone provoked me ... quite a dangerous game we play sometimes. I've not worn that badge in ages seeing as how I've kinda changed a few things. Now I wear a tattoo not a phoenix though
The only way they can get this aff me is to kill me. Good luck to them

Everybody has their own beliefs on this topic. We have all read them. Before friendships get hurt or clinics bombed, I vote we abandon this topic. Vote anyone? I vote abandon
