Floyds 'UmmaGumma' still brings flashbacks from too much partyin in the 60s and 70s. Especially the track 'Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict' I have a confession to make. Being born and raised in the states, sometimes I have a hard time understanding such heavy accents. Anyone know what the guy is saying on that track? warning:getting pie-eyed before listening to that track is reccomended

Aye an' a bit of Mackeral settler rack and ruin ran it doon by the haim, 'ma place well I slapped me and I slapped it doon in the side and I cried, cried, cried.
The fear a fallen down taken never back the raize and then Craig Marion, get out wi' ye Claymore out mi pocket a' ran doon, doon the middin stain picking the fiery horde that was fallen around ma feet. Never he cried, never shall it ye get me alive ye rotten hound of the burnie crew. Well I snatched fer the blade O my Claymore cut and thrust and I fell doon before him round his feet.
Aye! A roar he cried frae the bottom of his heart that I would nay fall but as dead, dead as 'a can be by his feet; de ya ken?
...and the wind cried back.
I used a search engine for this a while back as I was always curious as to what he was saying lol.. But then again he is supposed to be a pict.

just thought you might find this intresting about the song SEVERAL SPECIES OF SMALL FURRY ANIMALS GATHERED TOGETHER IN A CAVE AND GROOVING WITH A PICT
"A hidden message (at half normal speed) is at 4:32-4:33. In the right speaker you can hear David saying: "This is pretty avant garde, isn't it?" If you play it at double speed, you can hear Roger saying: "Bring back my guitar""
you can download the "This is pretty avant garde, isn't it?" and find more information on http://www.pinkfloyd-co.com/disco/umma/umma_songs.html

Hold on a second...there's 1440 minutes in a day. If the average lenght of a song is about 3 minutes, that's at least 18,000 minutes of music, which is over 12 days of music ...do you ever get out?!
And yeah Observer, you're right bout the Lizzy version being the best. The Metallica version was shit. I can't stand Metallica-heads who say the Metallica version is better, without ever hearing the original and best.

So, what kind of window based programs do you have for writing music? How much memory do you need for them?

OH MY GUINESS!!! I remember using a simple 16 track AKAI or TEAC 'reel to reel' for studio use Thats incredible. You must have been a very good girl ALL YEAR for Santa to bring you all that Back in the late 70s, I accidentaly ran my smallest finger on my left hand into a meat slicer. I didnt cut it off, but the nerve damage and how it healed left it inoperable for guitar use(hard to explain). As much as I have always wanted to play guitar(or banjo), I will have to stick with learning keyboards. Is there a program to put on your pc to turn your keyboard.....into a keyboard?

a Notebook is a portable PC (most call it Laptop, but it isnt it at all )
Patrick, I can make you a program for PC, that make sounds if you press any keys of your keyboard so you can use youre keyboard as a keyboard... but its not as good as a keyboard... very strange...

This programme also contains a Limiter to avoid distortion by keeping audio signals from exceeding the set threshold
What?! Who want's to avoid distortion?! The more distortion the better, crank it up to 11!
Patrick, not being able to use your little finger shouldn't hinder your guitar playing all that much. At least you got 3 fingers to play with! Look at Jango Reinhart, he had two of his fingers welded together in a fire accident (legend has it that he ran into his burning caravan to save his guitar... ), yet with just his two remaining fingers he blew everybody away with speed and technique...we're talking Eddie Van Halen style runs here man! Legend.

I have a funny little story....FYI I have to go thru Kazaa Lite (its all in German and I cant really tell what its saying) to download all my tunes. There is a much larger selection than the one in the US. I just kind of guess what they are saying and start clicking. I downloaded some cool Eire Og tunes there. If you can read German, it might be a new channel for you all. As far as my guitar playing.... I think I am stuck WAY IN THE BACK OF THE CLASS

First off, I've been looking for a forum like this fore a long while.. muahaha! ... anyway...I absolutely love Stivell's Brian Boru. Also Elysium, by Elysia; and Sleeping sun, by Nightwish. Anything by Clannad or Loreena McKennit is wonderful.

I could not choose a "best song ever", 'cos I fall in love with a different song every day... Right now I would choose "Ten Brave Men", by Eire g... well, actually I love all their songs
