I'll jump in here and post the Gaelic lyrics to Amhrn na bhFiann, cuz I also want to know the chords of Gary's version. =) Seo dhibh a chirde duan glaigh, Cathrimeach briomhar ceolmhar, r dtinte cnmh go buacach tid, 'S an spir go min raltogach Is fonnmhar faobhrach sinn chun gleo 'S go tinmhar gl roimh thocht do'n l F chinas chaomh na hoiche ar seol: Seo libh canadh Amhrn na bhFiann Sinne Firnna Fil A t f gheall ag irinn, buion dr slua Thar toinn do rinig chugainn, F mhid bheith saor. Sean tr r sinsir feasta N fhagfar f'n tiorn n fn tril Anocht a tham sa bhearna bhaoil, Le gean ar Ghaeil chun bis n saoil Le guna screach f lmhach na bpilar Seo libh canadh Amhrn na bhFiann. Cois bnta ridhe, ar rdaibh slibhe, Ba bhuachach r sinsir romhainn, Ag lmhach go tran f'n sr-bhrat sin T thuas sa ghaoith go seolta Ba dhchas riamh d'r gcine chidh Gan iompil siar imirt ir, 'S ag sil mar iad i gcoinne nmhad Seo libh, canadh Amhrn na bhFiann Sinne Firnna Fil A t f gheall ag irinn, buion dr slua Thar toinn do rinig chugainn, F mhid bheith saor. Sean tr r sinsir feasta N fhagfar f'n tiorn n fn tril Anocht a tham sa bhearna bhaoil, Le gean ar Ghaeil chun bis n saoil Le guna screach f lmhach na bpilar Seo libh canadh Amhrn na bhFiann. Btw Gary, may I ask what guitarlabel you're playing on? and also, did you receive my last mail? Sln go foill (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Yous all know I presume , that after coming to power Eamonn Delvalera changed the translation of the first line national anthem to Fainna Fail in order to take the mantel of Irish republicanism. many old time or long time republicans sing laochra gael, or laochra fail to distingusih fom the 'free state version. it is of course a matter of choice. |

Hi folks. I haven't gone away you know! I just haven't had the time of late, been very busy. I know there's a few requests for things and I promise I'll get round to them all, not tonight though, but soon. Take care and be good!

Gary a chara any chance ye can post any other simple chorded versions of yer songs Anbhoy, stick up the words of the songs you want and I'll fill in the chords. I think a new thread for each song is the best way. gary would you be able to post you the willie and danny solo you play? if its not to much bother please. TAL I don't read music/stave notation or TAB. I play everything by ear and I've said before somewhere here, I don't even know the names of most of the chords I play. So explaining a solo on here is difficult for me. How much help do you need? We could maybe work it out together by pm if you are stuck at bits, but if it's the whole solo note for note you want I don't know really how to explain it, providing I can even remember how I played it back then. |

Ok what scale do you use and what is your starting point on the fret board? |

I'm in the key of Bm, using Am Scale(Capo 2nd fret), I think the first note of the solo should be A (1st string, 5th fret), in fact it is a slide note(I have no guitar here I'm having to imagine it), so it's a slide note from G(1st string 3rd fret) to the A note.
