Personally, I interpret it as talking about society and how critical people have gotten of others.
Then again, I know next to nothing, so pay me no mind. :rolleyes:

Hi everybody,
Don't know why, but those lyrics remind me of a poem written by Bertolt Brecht, I think. It goes as follows:

"First they came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me."

I had never heard of the song before, but as I was reading the lyrics, this poem came to my mind :-) Probably there is no logical connection between them... but I have never been very logical, despite being a computer programmer :lol:
