Hmmmmm... <_<
I should really read the lyrics of the song before guessing what it is, but being a wee bit interested in Celtic mythology, I'm pretty sure that Cnla is another form of the name Coonla. When it comes to Celtic mythology, everybody has a shit load of different names. Probably stems from different Gaeilic dialects and that kinda thing. For example, Cchulainn is also named as C Chulainn, C Chulaind, just different variations, so that people in a few thousand years time would be well confused. So I'm guessing Cnla is Coonla, son of the High King of Ireland, Con of the Hundred Battles. I'm not sure what stories are connected with Coonla, or if he appears in any. I don't think he's a major character, but I'm not sure. I could look it up if you want. Actually, now that I've looked up a book I've got it also mentions Coonla as the son of Cchulainn... Hold on, I'mm gonna have to have a look at this song...now look what you've done... Shit, what a class song! Well that's just thrown out everything I've said I think. I'm well confused now. It's too fuckin late for this shit! Sorry, I havent helped at all...I'm off to bed. Sln go dt an maidin mo chairde |

http://www.ceantar.org/Dicts/ - That's got dictionaries for Irish, Scot and Welsh Gaelic
And the site itself, http://www.ceantar.org has loads of links, that'd be a good place to start. I'm sure Roidsear knows loads of links for Irish language sites, if he's still around... <_< As for mythology, there's loads of sites...and they all contradict each other! http://www.luminarium.org/mythology/ireland/ http://www.irishmythology.com/ http://www.searcs-web.com/myth.html Sln leat |
