Hello all, specially those wishing to join the Celtic Lyrics forum, Due to the recent increase in fake registrations, which are used to litter the forums with spam and unwelcome advertising, I have changed the registration process to be slightly tighter than it used to be. This may cause, despite all my care when doing so, some people with a real wish to join to be rejected by the system. If, when joining the forum, you find that your account is not approved within a couple of days, please use this link to contact me. Include the date you attempted to register, your email account and the username you chose, and I will have a look at your account and improve the filters in the registration process. Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation, Banshee Celtic Lyrics Admin |

Hello everyone... Looks like St Patrick's day is here again :-) And, although once again I won't be in Ireland for it, I will nonetheless celebrate... Anyone doing anything interesting for St Patrick's night next Saturday? Anyone lucky enough to be somewhere with good parties going on? Wish you all the best, Banshee |

I have been seeking the lyrics and music to a traditional song from Co. Cavan, The Shades of Cloverhil. It describes how a priest foils the Black and Tans. I heard it sung at a wedding some years ago and have been unable to find it again. Can anyone help? I've never heard of it, at least by the title. If you remember any part of the lyrics, it would help if you post them, some people may know it by a different title! Hope someone can help you! Banshee |

Hi, Please help me. On my family's web-site (www.rakovszky.eu) I want to greet the visitors in as many languages as possible. Unluckily I haven't got yet any translation into a celtic language. Please help me with translations of "We welcome you on our familys Historical-Research Site" Translations into minority languages are especially wellcome. Greetings Stephan Hello, Well, we have some Irish and Scottish Gaelic speakers around the forum, so hopefully someone will give you a translation. I'd give it a try, but I think my Irish is not good enough yet. I could try Basque though :-) Welcome to the forum! Banshee |

Thanks anyhow. kinsella kinsella remember his name this young volunteer from the creggan he came on the 14th december the year 94 pol edward kinsella passes through heaven door if i get these chords i should be able to sus out the rest of the song for myself. Heya, I've been looking through my tabs and chords, and through a couple of sites with quite a good collection of rebel chords, and couldn't find it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Perhaps someone with a good ear could give it a try and figure it out? Come on, I know there are people in this forum who can do that... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Wish you all the best, Banshee |

Hi Can anybody tell me any songs that are specifically about the Goal? Just been to Dublin and had the time of my life! Thanks Kerry Hello! Well, I dunno if you will consider it "specifically" about Kilmainham Gaol, but "Grace" tells the story of Plunkett, who got married in the prision chapel just hours before being executed... I was there in January this year, and I could hear this song in my head all through the visit... I'll try to think of some more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Wish you all the best, Banshee |

Please send it to [email protected] Heya, I haven't seen Charlotte online on the forum for quite a while now... However, I'll have a look at my music hard drive and see if I have the song, and send it to you. Wish you all the best, Banshee |

I admire this man for his music and all activities for the poorest. Really. But sometimes I think he is too optymistic. What is being a rebel, but having hope and being optimistic when the world opposes you? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Banshee |

I don't know how talk about heat is related with the song "soldier boy" but it seems it is. It must be, if the subject is still continued (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I know! No matter there is hot or cold, a soldier must stand at his position. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Welcome to the craziness in celtic-lyrics.com!! Keep on topic? what's that? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Well, we do from time to time, but not very often... |

Some people say that I have an elfish look, so a sword suits a lot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Hehe... well, a sword definitely suits anything i know with elfish looks... Sleep? who said sleep? I said "collapse in bed"... which is very different from sleeping (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Wish you all the best, Banshee |

Well, I got the same problem (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). Everything around me is absolutely chaotic. But I can find that I need. But it is true disaster, then someone tries to find in my papers someting and usually make a real mess. Nah, it's not chaos... it's the rest of the world that's chaotic, I'm sure! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) A special mixture od tradition and modern way of life (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I know it very well while carying with me a sword for evening training and a laptop to work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Sounds interesting... must be a shocking sight in the morning for some people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) I mean, everybody in the office (that is, in the whole floor... about four or five offices) heard about me and my guitar yesterday... i guess if someone came in with a sword for evenign training the whole building would find out hehe Anyway... if you all will excuse me, I'll just go to collapse in bed in this bloody spanish heat that seems to have moved to England with me... Wish you all the best (and a bit of cool air for those melting) Banshee |

Well, it's quite funny to imagine someone playing and singing and watching on the laptop 's screen for chords or lirycs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif). A bit surrealistic view. Can't you put those papers in some kind of ring binder in alphabetical order? It would make finding of desired one much simpler. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Well, I have them in some sort of binder in some sort of order... the fact that no one ever manages to find anything in there does not mean anything!!! It's ordered!!! It's just that other people's idea of order is not the same as mine!! Anyway... It's even more surrealistic when you come on stage with guitar and chorded lyrics and such... and then just give yourself the starting note and sing with eyes closed, not a single look at the bunch of papers (did that tonight...), so... I guess it wouldn' t surprise anyone too much if I ended up bringing the laptop with me LOL Wish you all the best, Banshee |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) So we both tend to make back-ups of songs and chords. It's a very useful habit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Yep, quite useful... I think I started printing them because I can't carry my laptop (if it can be called so, given how heavy it is) around everywhere I play... and even when I can, reading chords from the screen can be hard... after all, it's easier to squeeze a song, in a still readable format, in one side of a piece of paper than in a screen. The only problem when the printed collection grows too much is finding the song I want to play... which reminds me, I still have to find a couple of tabs for tomorrow's folk club... Wish you all the best, Banshe |

Yeah! When I look for some lyrics I usually ask google about them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And it shows two places - Triskelle or this Collection. Then usually I put lyrics of my favourite songs on my weblog. There are more songs there then my own notes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). Hehe... know the feeling (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I tend to print lyrics and chord them for guitar... and the "wee collection of printed lyrics" has grown so much in the last months that it can hardly be carried around any more... Anyway, good to see Celtic Lyrics is still in the first google results (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Wish you all the best, Banshee |

When you look for lyrics you should always start from Triskelle web site, it is very rich source of songs and information about them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Ahem... Trikelle is a nice site, I won't deny it... but here at the Celtic Lyrics Collections we do have a pretty bunch of them as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) And we're open to contribution to make the collection even larger!
