She's still alive?? Well I guess zombies really can't die.

Actually, I can't see why she's Woman of the year either. Methinks she should be Man of the year (she did, after all, help crush the godless communism and Eastern block and make the whole fanatic freemasonry in Windsor immensly happy).

What I don't understand is, why this year? What has she done? The past deeds, right, but whay this year? Couldn't it have waited for another year so she coul invent a cure for cancer or a bird flu or something?

[/sarcasm]

Aye, my thoughts are yours. Without thorough preparations it could become a weigh around the neck, like with the Germany.

As far as Belgian beer is concerned...... I think Christophe will have a very hard time convincing people in this forum that it tastes better than Guiness <_<

Well, I smell a thing or two. It looks to me Paisleyists will eventually lose their ground underneath them, despite fighting rethoric. With having no more internal enemy, who'll they fight against? Republic of Ireland? I think one of the last bastion of aparthaid is slowly crumbling.

There is no dispute that geographically the territory of North(ern) Ireland belongs to Ireland. There's no big problem in concluding that even when you take the history as a measuring element, since Ireland has been more or less unified territory under the government of the Crown for more than three centuries, except for the last 80 years. There is, however, a notably different culture present, mixture of Celtic and Anglo-Saxon cultures, which is really a normal fact in ethnically mixed societies. But: there's a power struggle of an ethnic group, whose culture and political status is more or less (more, actually) based on the religious wars of 17th century, out of which they developed their apartheid-like political and social culture and enforcing it on the minority. But there's no place for that kind of stampedo of human rights in the modern world.
I wonder if the DUP (for instance) would still be Unionist in their aspiration, if/when N. Ireland should become a part of the Republic of Ireland? It's their democratic right (to be unionist), but to what purpose, if the majority of people wish to end partition? Will they try to secede only three or maybe two counties then?

Still, there's a problem of how the Catholic community will handle things, if/when they get an upper hand. It may result in something like THIS, except on a larger, nation-wide scale. Which is not good either, however one might think that Protestant community 'deserved' a social exclusion in all-county Ireland for their centuries long opression of Catholics. But this practice does not fit the modern days either. If only both sides in N. Ireland would show more of their "christian" nature than Catholic or Protestant one...

I guess I'm daydreaming. (gone for lunch)

@Charlotte: Olorin is the name of Gandalf, y'know, that grey ol' grandad who fought the demons, Orcs and Sauron. ;)

No no, that's not being proud. I'm already logged in some forums as Olorin and I'd hate to change it now. Besides, Tolkien was a "bloody papist" like me, and definitely not a Unionist. :D

I'll send you a PM on the issue of OG.

Dubbya-TF?? You be Pavlik?? Or someone else from OG??? World's getting ever smaller for the Unionists! :D

Why is setanta747 so proud of CuChulainn? Because he's a hero from Ulster? Well, I guess even some orangemen have decency to respect irish culture. ;)

It looks like the effects of enlightment have worn out.

The "good/evil" doctrine seems to be prevailing, like in Stars & stripes... whatever that means, besides being ol' as shit. Hey, George knows! (sorry for intermezzo)

Indeed - I neglected a great many things.  But I gave you the view of an Irish person living in Northern Ireland.

I'm sorry to interrupt, but, aren't Orangemen of Anglo-Saxon and not Irish origin?
