QUOTE(Fionn @ Jun 30 2006, 12:48 PM) *

When you look for lyrics you should always start from Triskelle web site, it is very rich source of songs and information about them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks Fionn. I'm honoured!

There are several version of the song The Belfast Brigade and the main differences are in the first line.
In one version "Craigavon sent the Specials out" (Craigavon refers to James Craig, cofounder of the Ulster Volunteer Force and the first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland from 1921 until 1940, who became Viscount Craigavon of Stormont in 1927), and in an other version "The Black and Tans from London came".
There is also a third version in which "Craig Adams sent the Special out". All I can find about a Craig Adams is that he suffered brain damage in a car accident. The obvious question is: who is/was Craig Adams who sent the Specials out?

When a giraffe, a Scotsman and an albatross entered the pub the bartender cried out "what's this? some kind of joke or what?".

Recently I've heard a song with the line "So go to sleep my little Tinker" (yes indeed to the tune of "Provo's Lullaby"). I've no idea whatsoever who sang the song and only a vague idea where I heard the song (was kinda late).
Is there someone out there who knows the lyrics and is willing to share?

What does it take to be an Irish rebel nowadays? An occasional step on the soapbox shouting "Ireland unfree will never be at peace" and hoping someone on the other side of the world will notice?
Rebel, get real. Supporter perhaps at the most. Please reserve the word rebel for those who endangered their lives because they believed in an ideal and stop the deflation of the word!

I realised that I failed to introduce myself properly: I'm a non-Irish lad with the habit to ask silly questions about Irish stuff.
The question that intrigues me at the moment concerns the colours of the national flag of the Republic of Ireland. As far as I know these are clearly described as "Green, white and orange", but in many song lyrics the colours are described as "Green, white and gold". The question is obvious now: why is that? I just can't image that these song writers are colour-blind.
Although I sleep quite well despite this pressing question (thank you), I definitely would like to know the answer.

I've spent a while searching some lyrics of songs sung by The Irish Brigade and perhaps someone can point me in the right direction. My personal quest concerns the following songs:
The extradition song.
Sinn Fein Train.
Hands Up! Trousers Down!
Ambush at Drumnakilly.

The SAM Song is known by some as Tiocfaidh r L.
If the chorus of the song you're looking for is something like this "Tiocfaidh r l, sing up the 'RA / SAM missiles in the sky" you can find the lyrics here.
