Dia daoibh / Hi everybody...

I came across this song quite some time ago, and I'm currently learning to play it... The thing is that I can't make out any of the intros I've heard to this song, so I was wondering if anybody out there could give me a hand on that (come on, I know some of you out there _do know_ this one! tongue.gif) It would be great to include the first verse of the song as well, just in case I play it in a different key.

Well... hope someone can help me out with this one smile.gif

Wish you all the best,
Keltic Banshee

Could this be correct maybe... But the intro wasn't included in this one..sad.gif

The reason i left Mullingar...Capo 2nt Fret

[EM] I walked through this[D]city a[C]strang[G]er,
In a [F] land I can [C] never call[G]ho[D]me,
I [EM] cursed the sad [D] notion that [C] caused[G]me,
In [EM] search of my fortune to [D] roam.

CHORUS
I [EM] remember that [D] bright april [C] morn[G]ing,
When I [F] left home to [C] travel a-[G]far[D],
But to [EM] work till your [D] dead for a [C] room and a [G] bed,
Is not the [G] geason I [D] left Mullin[G]gar.

Sln,

Yep, that's the way I play it, and no matter where I looked I couldn't find an intro for it... I recently got a version of the intro, still learning to play it (I find it easier to play when I've seen someone play than when I read scores)... I could post it here if anyone else is interested smile.gif

I'm going to learn this one, since my version (in Am) is way too high.

The intro I know is actually the last part of the chorus on violin, so I tend to play those chords creatively
as an intro.

I'd love to see the intro of course, perhaps i'd take it on as well laugh.gif

Banshee, thanks for sending me that intro. It's really nice.

I play it without the Capo, and then make a transition during the song to A-tuning, ergo: the one posted here with the Capo on the 2nd fret.

I can post the chords here if anyone is interested, but I'm still working on the bridge.. tongue.gif
