yesterday i got back from family and girlfriend holidays in denmark...not wanting to miss my dearest beer in the world i bought some cans ( the final sin : beer in cans... ) of Guinness,put the in the fridge,passed my time waiting and enjoyed it when it was chilled. i was surprised,shocked,in total awe and slagjawed,when the can was empty and i heard it rattle. my first thought was "yippie ie yee, i won something by finding the golden guinness ball" i looked inside the can (and got some remains in the eye by turning it upside down,goofy me )and found this little plastic "widget" (that's what it was called on the back of the can)..and now, my question :

ANYONE KNOWS WHAT THAT THING IS GOOD FOR???

I recently bough some guiness in bottles and got the same thing... I was confused as well

quite simple actually..... It is a co2 cartridge that pops when you open it to provide the 'foamy head' that we all wear like mustaches. They put it there so it can be shipped around the world without it exploding. Smart idea eh?

no...they put it in there just so they can get that foamy head, it isnt going to explode if it isnt in there... it just gives it that cascading effect

Lighten up I didnt mean that they would explode if they didnt have them in them, Their contents are not under pressure so it needs them to create the foam. Being non-carbonated, It can be shipped all over the world without exploding. I would guess that everyone else could have figured that out.
