Can anyone tell me what the word 'croppy' means in the title and lyrics of the song Croppy Boy?

The Revolutionnaries of 1798 were called "the croppies" because of their haircut (French 1789 revolutionnary Style).
I think thats what the song is about.(revolution of 1798, not haircuts !)
