Saoirse

When your mind is growing weary and tired
And your heart continues to break
You try to move on, but thoughts within mired
Of having visited the dead in their wake.

Life has brought to you much to ponder
No matter how far you've gone away,
The heart, full of a love growing fonder
For that freedom we shall attain one day.

People before us and soon to follow us
Will lay down their lives and give up all
For this is what it takes and nothing less
Once is finished, the mighty British will fall.

You will not find hearts any bigger than our own
Full of pride and a love that knows no bounds.
Our passion, throughout this world is known,
And it is on our voices, Saoirse, Freedom sounds!

Faith will carry us through, see us to the end
Bringing with it a new dawning, one that's free
Raising our spirits, our hearts on the mend
Then a Nation Once Again we'll forever be!!!!!

A Wee Irish Devil

(applause)... I think I will add an 'Irish Republican Poetry' page to my site
Can anyone else here write poetry? If so, let me know... I will post it
I think Heather is just the 'fireball' that we need to get re-juvinated. (AND she can sing too)

Thank you Patrick, thank you very much. Although that poem was kind of put in with a heavy heart, there is always hope. That was just a wee poem that came to me as I started to take tea. I couldn't eat, so I had to write. It is a funny thing how someone sparks a memory and things just come out. Never forget, never loose passion, never loose heart, never loose faith, hope, never loose mind.... always remember... remember the land so fair, remember the hearts of a sad and yet happy people, remember the friendliness, remember the stubborness.... remebering our refusal to bow in defeat and let it be an insipiration for anyone, whether it be against other nations, or against yourself. Freedom in all sense can be won, just have to fight for it. If you look deep enough, you can see what it takes to be free.

I think it is a wonderful idea to put in an Irish Republican Poetry Page. I do not believe that I have seen one in the past, so this might just be a new one. It sure does feel great that I have inspired someone to do something like that.

I don't know about being a 'fireball,' but I sure do hope that some will see this and will find a wee bit of inspiration as for singing... that I do morning, noon and night.. and sometimes even in my sleep or so I've been told lol only one time I don't sing.. and even then have been told was, well... ahem.. nm lol I'm off now.. see yas all soon
Charlotte
I write a bit of poetry myself. Mostly in French though...
Patrick
First of all, Welcome back Charlotte I am not going to ask how Ireland was(I think I know what you would say) I started an Irish Republican Poetry page on my site. If you would write some Irish Republican poetry in French(with an English translation), I would be happy to post it Have you talked to your brother lately?
Charlotte
No, not Republican poetry I'm afraid : I leave such an important work to the real professionals.
As for my bro, as far as I know he's fine
Roidsear
Well, I use to write some poetry or lyrics from time to time...
Not republican... not yet...

I'll publish some of it on my site here when I have sorted them...

Argyll
