What a lovely stuff!
Fianna
What model is it?

I have a Fender aswell, a U.S. Fender Stratocaster. A U.S. model! None of your crappy cheap Mexican models here!

user posted image

That's it there, except mines a darker blue. Same guitar as Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix used... biggrin.gif

Patrick
Left-handed as well? cool.gif
Fianna
No, it's right handed. Like Rory's. And besides, Jimi used a right handed Strat upside down...so there!

You're not a damn leftie are you? tongue.gif
Sean
My model is 095-7400 STRATACOUSTIC AC/EL GUITAR OWT
================
Fianna, that's Standard Stratocaster 013-4600 (or 013-4602). Most of them are made in Mexica, Squire Standards are made in South Korea and only FENDER RICHIE SAMBORA STANDARD STRATOCASTER 113-2700 are USA made.
But may be (I hope so) that is 011-9600-857 BECK STRATOCASTER SFG or 011-9600-805 FENDER JEFF BECK STRATOCASTER - both USA made.

================
I work at FENDER representation in Russia biggrin.gif
Fianna
It says made in USA on the headstock!

I also have a Yamaha Pacifica, which was my first guitar. Pretty cheap, but one of the best electrics you can get for that price.

Pretty cool that you work for Fender. Maybe you can get me a good deal on my next guitar! tongue.gif Actually maybe not...cause my next one's gonna be a Gibson! biggrin.gif Either way, any eqipment I get from now on I'm gonna buy on the net, order it from the continent. You can get the stuff for almost half price compared to the music shops in Dublin, they rip you off big time.

Sean
I really guess it's Jeff Beck... USA made...

It gonna be profit for ye, Fianna, if you will buy Fender or Ibanez being yourself in Moscow - I promise...
And now let me guess - the next one is Les Paul?
Patrick
OH MAN, I AM GETTING A BIG CHUBBY JUST LOOKING AT THOSE! wub.gif
I am not a Lefty, but where did you see Hendrix playing a right-handed guitar upside down?
Sean

And that's an instrument I keep dreaming about -

It's just what he did Patrick. His trademark cream Strat which he played most of the time (have a look at Woodstock) is just a right-hand Strat upside down. I think the fretboad might have been modified a bit, but the body is just upsidedown. Check out this pic and the bottom right pic on the image Sean posted:

You can see that the tuning pegs are under the headstock and the tone and volume controls are above the scratch plate...it's upsidedown! I think it's only for his cream Strat though, I've seen him play other guitars that are proper left handers.

Sean, my Strat definately isn't a Jeff Beck model! It's just a US Standard. Maybe they're not allowed sell Yankie Strats over in Russia, that's why you haven't seen one! tongue.gif You know a shit lot more than me about guitars but I'm positive this is US made. I'll get the model number for you if you want, but I'm sure it's US.

Yeah, the Custom Celtic is very nice, you played it? I've seen it in a guitar shop called Music Maker here in Dublin. I'll check the price out today and might have a go on it, looks very nice.

But yeah, dream guitar's a Gibson Les Paul Custom. Here it is, just for Patrick... tongue.gif

Except mine won't be white, it'll be Wine Red. See the markers on the fret? They're made from pearl! Gold humbuckers! I've no idea how much it costs, but I've seen it in sale and there was no price on it, meaning it's probably the price of a decent car...

What a wonderfull topic we have here!
Fianna, have you seen what guitar BelFasT guitarist is playin?
user posted image
And here is my dream of the dreams. Ah!

Eddie Cochrainn's model... wub.gif
Fianna
Is that a Standard he's playing? What's the story with the brown strap! At least match your strap colour with your guitar colour! rolleyes.gif

The cheapest you'd pay for a Gibson Les Paul here in Dublin would be 1,300. That's the botom of the line. Then to get anything above that you'd have to re-mortgage your house. And sell your car. And maybe your body...

I've never played a Gretsch in my life, cause the shops around here never have many in stock, they don't seem to be that popular. I know a girl in a band who plays one though, she swears by them. She got it free though for being way too talented. Surely you get some kinda discount when buying Fender guitars, no? Not really my type of guitar but it does look very nice...especially the massive tail-piece!

Think we win for most images posted on a thread...
Patrick
HANDS DOWN! MOST PICS! biggrin.gif
I feel like such an idiot. Growing up in the 60s and 70s, 'Rock and Roll' was my life. It was also a time where reefer was readily available and everyone smoked it.
I always knew hendrix was left handed, but never noticed that his guitar was right-handed. (must have been some really good pot) cool.gif
Thank you for pointing that out to me. Wow, That is SO STRANGE. For 30 years, I never noticed that.
Speaking of things that I never noticed........ Has anyone ever heard of the 'DiVinci code'?
Sean
Fianna, Papa John is playin' a Blues Hawk and strap doesn't matter - the quality of the playin' does 8))
Do not sell your car and your body! Just come and visit Moscow. We shall find something for you. Especially if you do not mean the brand new model... (yes, I have some discounts).
Gretsch is aaah, the dream, like Eldorado.
Patrick, it would be impossible to speak on this topic without any pics.
What is 'DiVinci code'?
Patrick
Lets see.... The 'DiVinci code'...
Micheal Angelo painted "The Last Supper"....
That painting depicted Jesus and his deciples...
Were all of his deciples men? Look again. Seated to Jesus' right is not a man, but a woman. The DiVinci code suggests that it was actually Mary Magdelon.
Anyway, Long story short... I never noticed in that painting that there was a woman sitting next to Jesus. (maybe that reefer thing again) wacko.gif
'The DiVinci code' is in paperback or hard cover. Very Interesting reading.
Patrick
ooops, I stand corrected.... Micheal Angelo didnt paint the last supper. Leonardo DiVinci did. Thus... 'The DiVinci code' Still really cool reading
Fianna
Never heard of the Di Vinci code before you mentioned it. And I can't remember what The Last Supper looks like...

But like they say, if you can remember the 70's (and the way Jimi played his guitar), you weren't there! I wish I was around in the 70's, it woulda rocked. Would have gotten to see Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Thin Lizzy...and I could've had long hair and smoked joints without gettin funny looks!

And Sean, it's all about the image! Tell the guitarist to ditch that brown strap and get a black one...he'll thank me when the ladies are all fighting over him...
Sean
Fianna, I 'll give him a link to this page right now. Hope he would be able to discuss this himself.
And I would like to get back yo 50-s, to see Elvis, Eddie Cochrainn, Gene Vincent... And young Dubliners and Clancy Bros... biggrin.gif
In 1993 we as "The Jailbrekers" had recorded an album called "Krazy 50-s that's my dream"...
No long hair, but Pompadour, leather bike jackets, hot rods. Broken face once a week. I had experienced that in 90-s biggrin.gif
PJN
I think black and brown match perfectly.
The black guitar is Gibson Blueshawk, two P-90 single noiseless pickups, Maestro tremolo (bigsby type), varitone switch, the body has two chambers with f-holes.
My new strap is made of leopard-colored furs.)
Fianna
You's are all blind...

But I ain't fightin over how well brown matches with black...I just think your strap should match your banjo. Mine does anyway.

On my old guitar I use to have the faces of the ten hunger strikers of '81 all the way down my strap. Made it myself. Now that was a strap.

I love Gibsons but I ain't a fan of guitars with f-holes. They should stay on violins! For anybody who hasn't seen the Blueshawk, and again for Patricks sick needs...

user posted image

Hope that's it anyway. Very nice...
PJN
I dont really care about straps, a strap should be long enough and have Shaller straplocks on it. That is all. ))
PJN
The pictured brown strap is soft leather Fender strap - a gift from Stnk (Sean's boss) from Fender company.
Fianna
I've been in many an argument on this site, but I sure as hell ain't gettin into an argument about straps!

I use Dunlop straps, so I guess you win with your leather Fender strap...

I still think it looks shit though...my opinion! tongue.gif
Sean
Fianna, a chara, abair dom le do thoil - what colour is the strap on your rifle?
PJN
ha man,
are you a musician or a strapholder?
))
Fianna
I'm a MUSICIAN! I just happen to be image conscious when it comes to guitars. My strat is dark blue, and my strap is black with this dark blue lava effect going down it.

So I look good while sounding good, what can I say?! cool.gif tongue.gif

Charlotte
I don't play music, unfortunately, though I'd enjoy it.
Yet, I sing...

Slan go foill

Charlotte, war on strap colors...
Werewolf
I nearly fell from my chair listening to a particular band at the local Irish pub (called... you guessed it, "Molly Malone's"). Not only does the singer sound exactly like Bono, but the entire band (well, both guitarists) have Les Pauls. I guess Irish bands make more money than I thought.

And these lads are from Waterford, mind you.
And unlike some bands we get, these guys refuse to play republican/rebel songs. Wankers.
Bjrn
Was it the Butterfly Band?
Werewolf
They call themselves "Cousin Bill". They tour the nordic countries so you might well see them where you're at, Bjorn.
Bjrn
Hmmm, I don't think they have been at The Dubliner, Oslo...

Btw.... Malloy Malone vs O'Malleys (both Helsinki)... WHich one is the best pub?
Werewolf
Molly Malone's is the best Irish pub in Helsinki by far. Live music every night and a very nice atmosphere. Some of the staff is actually Irish and all in all the place compares to some of the better places in Dublin. O'Malley's is smaller and not very Irish, really. During the day if you just want to nip in for a quick pint there's the Dubliner just across the street from the railway station. There's also a place called Parnell's, just uptown, which is supposed to be an okay pub except for the clientele.

My favourite place for a pint after work or if I'm looking for a nice quiet place for a chat with a friend is the Dubliner, but in the evenings or when I'm feeling like partying it's Molly Malone's, no questions, hands down, thank you for competing, better luck next time.
Sean
I think I've got another new guitar - Fender Tom DeLonge:
