Hi everyone!

I was hoping someone could help me find the title to a song. I heard it at a concert by the celtic music group Planet Reel. I don't have the actual lyrics, just the general gist of the song. i've searched all over the internet, but can't find it anywhere.

The song was about a young girl who had fallen in love with a man, but when she went to tell her Father he said he was sorry, but he had been unfaithful and the boy was her half-brother. So she fell in love with another guy, and told her Father. He again said he was sorry, but the boy was her half-brother, etc. etc. So, it seems that every boy she falls in love with is her half-brother because her Father has been constantly unfaithful. So, at the end, she goes to her Mother and tells her how sad she is because every guy in town is her half-brother thanks to her Father. Her Mom tells her not to worry because he's not her Father anyway. It either ends with: "he's not your Father anyway" or "You're not his daughter anyway." Something like that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance! Have a great weekend!

JOHNNY WAS FINE

Oh Johnny was fine and Johnny was fair,
And he wanted me to wed.
And I would marry Johnny my love,
But me Father up and Said;
Im sad to tell you daughter,
What your mother never knew,
But Johnny here is a son of mine
And so is kin to you!

Then next I met my Thomas fair,
And he wanted me to wed.
And I would marry Thomas my love,
But me Father up and Said;
Im sad to tell you daughter,
What your mother never knew,
But Thomas here is a son of mine
And so is kin to you!

Then next I met my William fair,
And he wanted me to wed.
And I would marry William my love,
But me Father up and Said;
Im sad to tell you daughter,
What your mother never knew,
But William here is a son of mine
And so is kin to you!

Oh never did you see a lass
So sorry as I was.
All the lads in town me kin,
And Father was the cause.
If things should keep a-goin this way
Ill die a single a single miss.
So, I went to tell my mother and
Complain to her of this.

Well daughter havent I taught you
Forgive and to forget.
Youre father sowed his oats tis true,
But doesnt know this yet:
Your father may be father
To all the lads, but still
Hes not the one that sired you,
So marry who you will!

If you are still interested in the song, you can listen to it at http://sheilaryan.com/music.htm Its called Johnny Be Fair. Unfortunately, the quality of the mp3 file is far from being outstanding...
