I am looking for the music for this traditional Scottish folk song. I heard it sung recently in a pub, by an Irish lady with a beautiful voice and would love to have the music. Can anyone help me

Love that song, it's beautiful. I've only heard it by Christy Moore, on his "Live At The Point" album, which is bloody amazin by the way!
I think by music you mean actual notation, but I'm not sure where u'd get that. I'll post the chords here anyway (am I allowed do that?), dunno if that's any help but that's all I know. Am...........F............G...........Am Black is the colour of my true love's hair. .............F.........C.....E..( E7 ) Her lips are like some roses fair .....................F.....C................E...( E7 ) She had the sweetest smile and the gentlest hands ...............F......G...........Am And I love the ground whereon she stands. I love my love and well she knows I love the ground whereon she goes I wish the day it soon would come When she and I could be as one I go to the Clyde and I mourn and weep For satisfied I ne'er can be I write her a letter just a few short lines And suffer death a thousand times Black is the colour of my true love's hair. Her lips are like some roses fair She had the sweetest smile and the gentlest hands And I love the ground whereon she stands. |
