Hi !

I'm Bjrn from Germany. I searched the internet for the English lyrics of the German
Song "Die Moorsoldaten" (= Peatbog soldiers), and finally came to this site. I can't
believe, that the song is called an Irish (or Celtic ?) traditional, because in fact, it was
created by prisoners in the NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMP Brgermoor facing death.
It was composed by Rudi Goguel. Johann Esser and Wolfgang Langhoff wrote the lyrics
(in German of course).

Please see for example: www.voiceoftheturtle.org/dictionary/dict_p1.php#peatbog

I just wanted everybody to know that it's not a folk song or something.

Bye... Bjrn

(PS.: ... the song's real origin...)
