Dia dhaoibh,
Demat deoc'h! After waiting about 6 years for a chance to attend a gig of the Battlefield Band, I finally made it yesterday! They introduced their new album "Out for the night". And they're returning on Feb. 10. to Wuppertal, near my place. I'll attend that gig, too, as I have to buy their textbook. 140 songs, and even more tunes and sets... Aye, 'ats a wee bit of music.... ;) Great night... And their new fiddler, Alisdair White (dunno if he's that new at all, but I didn't see him before...) is amazing. According to classical violin style, his style is horrible, but that doesn't count anyways... He's playing fiddle, not violin, hehe... But I still wonder how he can handle the fiddle the way he holds it... ;) He's from the Isle of Lewis. That Gaelic Slow Air he played on the fiddle is still in on my mind, the Pipes, skillfully played as ever by Mike Katz are still humming in my ears. Pat Kilbride was fantastic, and Alan Reid added his special humor to the evening. Gle-mhth! Very good! I won't forget this night.... Alba gu brath! Roidsear |
