Dunno about My Old Mans a Provo

But Eire Og's Let The People Sing/Take It Down From The Mast/This Land is Your Land has to be the best song ever.
As does all of their other songs, lol.

Heres what I *THINK* Take it down from the mast is.

Let the People Sing
For those who are in love,
Heres a song thats warm and tender.
For those who are opressed,
In song you can protest.
So liberate your minds,
And give your souls expression.
And open up your hearts and I'll sing for you this song.

Chorus
Let the people sing their stories and their songs.
And the music of their native land
Their lullabies and battle-crys and songs of hope and joy.
So join us hand in hand.
All across this ancient land,
Throughout the test of time.
It was music that kept their spirits free.
Those songs of yours and of mine

Take It Down From the Mast
Chorus
Take it down from the mast Irish traitors!
It's a flag we Republicans claim! (SINN FEIN!)
It will never belong to Free Staters
You have brought on it nothin but shame.

So leave it to those who are willin'
To uphold it through war and in peace.
True men who intend to do killin's
Until Britains tyranny is ceased

Chorus

Well you murdered our brave Liam and Rory
You butchered Richard and Joe.
Your hands, with their blood, are still gory
From doin' the work of the foe.

Chorus

Well it was back in ancient times,
When the bard would tell us stories.
Of heroes, of villains, of chieftains in the glen.
Of Elizebethan times,
Through Cromwellian wars and fury.
Put the pipers to the sword,
Killed the harp players and the bard.

Chorus

This Land Is Your Land
Chorus
This Land is your land
This land is my land
From the northern highlands
To the western islands
From the hills of Kerry
To the streets of Free Derry
This land was made for you and me.

As I went walkin,
In shallow waters.
Hand in hand with,
my little daughters
With the churcbell ringin'
And the children singin'
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

I climbed the mountain,
Saw the crystal fountain.
And I heard a great roar,
From the rocky sea shore.
Her eyes were gleamin'
She cried "Oh daddy"
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

I walked her home by
The old church steeple.
Proud of my country,
Proud of my people.
For the men who cried there,
And the men who died there singin'
This land was made for you and me.

Chorus

Well Ireland, land of song.
Your music lives for ever.
In your valleys, in your mountains,
In your hills and in your glens.
Your music will survive
Through famine and opression
For the generations gone, I'll sing for you this song.

Chorus

My Old Man

[chorus]

Well [G] my old man's a Provo with a beret and a [D] gun

I haven't seen him lately, he's always on the [G] run

He looks so really trendy in his shades and DM [C] boots

Much [G] better than those other dads in [D] ties and shirts and [G] suits.

The police are aye hassling me each time that I go out

They ask me if I've seen him and if he's been about

I say mind your own business and just leave me alone

You shower of holy gibbons have ye no fathers of your own?

On RTE last Friday night, a man came on to say,

Please give us information about the IRA.

He showed a Provo unit as clear as clear could be,

And I know one was me daddy cause he stopped and waved at me!

My da, hes got me worried; I think hes going soft,

Theres half a tonne of fertiliser stored up in our loft.

You gonna be a farmer, da? I asked him just for fun,

He says, Dont be an eejit, pass the coffee grinder, son

At Christmas time it's lonely when Daddy's not around

The police are watching everywhere they`ve even tapped our phones

Last Christmas Eve they staked-out our windows and our doors

Then climbing down the chimney came a Provo Santa Claus.

My Daddy's up in Long Kesh now, to me it's just a drive

I'll say a special prayer for him when I go to bed tonight

Today it was his birthday, I sent him up a cake;

There's Semtex in the candles: he'll be out before I wake!

easily to find on google!

This is one of my all time favourite songs. I especially like the idea of a Provo Santa Claus
