Do you feel he just perpetuates hype?

sayin' "he" whom do you mean? Bono?

Yes I mean Bono.

I've been reading this forum pretty regularly since I joined and I don't say much on this site because I still have so much to learn. I came upon it looking for lyrics for the rebel music I started listening to a couple years ago. I really enjoy reading it.

I always thought of the term 'rebel' as being synonymous with opposition. But I suppose a rebel without opposition could be one who has made enough of a difference to change public opinion or increase awaremess. I can't imagine there are many people who would oppose relief efforst in third world countries in priniciple, but it's true, I think, when it comes to monetary efforts people are less likely to do all they can.

What is being a rebel, but having hope and being optimistic when the world opposes you? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Banshee

Let's look at it in diffrent way: what is a reason in being a rebel, when the world doesn't opposes you?

So what is to be the fate of this site? It's really helpful and I would be very disappointed if it was just abandoned.

This is what I think they are,
Low lie the filds of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free-birds fly

[Hey baby watch the free birds fly]

Our love was on the wing

[Sinn Fein]

We had dreams and songs to sing

[The IRA]

It's so lonely, round the fields of Athenry

QUOTE(TOSCS @ Mar 25 2006, 11:05 PM) *

I've always been too drunk to really care.. but it'd be nice to know since I know the entire song off by heart, but not the stuff that some people shout in between...

Low lie the filds of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free-birds fly
-something-something-something-FREE BIRDS FLY!
Our love was on the wing
-something-something-!!
We had dreams and songs to sing
-something-something-!!
It's so lonely, round the fields of Athenry

Hello all!
I was at Rocky Sullivan's on the 16th for the Eire Og show. It was the first time I had seen Gary and Coach play EVER and I wanted to say how much I appreciated the music and understood their message. What an amazing performance! Thank you Gary and Coach!!!

I absolutely agree with you. Gary's version is much better.

QUOTE(TOSCS @ Mar 27 2006, 01:38 AM) *

Is it just me who thinks that the Lennon song sounds absolutely terrible? I understand that the lyrics are great, and that Gary didn't write them, but his version is a thousand times better IMO.

This is probably one of those things you 'just can't say' because it's not cool, like saying U2 are good, but hey.
