A great band..Have a good history of listening to and playing Irish ballad and rebel music.
Gary Og if you are reading.. What is that instrument that is used on your live CD's , say for example on Nation once again -this land is your land ? is it an electric mandolin ? it sounds very electric !

The effective beat ye used for most of your songs is very effective.. it is a kind of military beat ? Drums are essential I think to carry it off.

Finally did ye ever play much in Ireland outside of Ulster ?

Does anyone know if Gary Og will be preforming in the USA anytime in the near future, near Massachusetts?
I had the opportunity to see him and his band 2 summers ago and I didnt' know who they were but they were
great and it took me a year to track the Cd's down from a music shop in Ireland. I've been waiting for him to come back and I haven't seen or heard anything. Can anyone point me to a web sight he may have that leads me to his shows?

Thank you,

George Trihias

George achara,

Gary is playing down on the Cape tonight (Wednesday), in Quincy at The Salt Box tomorrow (Thursday) night at 9, in CT Friday night, in Dorchester at The Banshee at 9 on Saturday night and in Dorchester at The Tara Pub at 9 on Sunday night. Check out this week's Irish Emigrant for more details. Hope this helps and hope to get to a show or two :-)

It figures....
I've been wanting to see Gary Og for years in the States... turns out he was in my town 2 months ago (Philadelphia). Just found this site today.

Gary,
Any chance for a victory lap this year?

Matt B Achara,

I understand that Gary is scheduled to be back on the East Coast sometime in March. He is supposed to play at Rocky Sullivan's in New York on March 16th so you might want to be on the look out for dates and venues in Philly around that time. I think he's supposed to play some Boston venues too but I don't have any specifics yet.

All the best,

Thanks, Matt Kavanah.
I'll keep checking the local listings to see if he's coming around in March.
Heading up to NY is a possibility too.

Cheers.

Hello all!
I was at Rocky Sullivan's on the 16th for the Eire Og show. It was the first time I had seen Gary and Coach play EVER and I wanted to say how much I appreciated the music and understood their message. What an amazing performance! Thank you Gary and Coach!!!
